Fiberboard - Coefficient of Friction

The coefficient of friction (COF) of corrugated and solid fiberboard is indication of how containers may from such materials perform in many critical applications. A high COF means that the container will be more resistant to sliding than a similar product with a low COF. A low COF may also be characteristic of a product or container that may be more prone to slipping from its intended load.

A Chatillon® testing system may be used to determine the static and kinetic COF values.

Industry standards for determining the COF is:
- TAPPI T-816
